Why I Have the best job in the world :)

I’m not sure how many of you out there have read the book “A wrinkle in Time” but it is an amazing book. It was first published in 1962. When somebody asked the author Madeleine L’Engle, a distinguished writer of adult novels, why she sometimes chose to write for children, she replied: When I have something to say that I think will be too difficult for adults, I write it in a book for children. Children are excited by new ideas; they have not yet closed the doors and windows of their imaginations. Provided the story is good… nothing is too difficult for children.

Childhood is the world of miracle or of magic: it is as if creation rose luminously out of the night, all new and fresh and astonishing. Childhood is over the moment things are no longer astonishing. When the world gives you a feeling of "déjà vu," when you are used to existence, you become an adult. Stay a child while you can be a child.

Self-esteem is the real magic wand that can form a child’s future. A child’s self-esteem affects every area of her existence, from friends she chooses, to how well she does academically in school, to what kind of job she gets, to even the person she chooses to marry. Knowing that I play a major part in that makes me feel like I’m doing something amazing.

We had a couple of snakes brought into the centre, its amazing to teach the children to accept all animals.

Only a child sees things with perfect clarity, because it hasn’t developed all those filters which prevent us from seeing things that we don’t expect to see.

Life doesn’t count for much unless you’re willing to do your small part to leave our children – all of our children – a better world. Even if it’s difficult. Even if the work seems great. Even if we don’t get very far in our lifetime.

Children are the brightest treasures we bring forth into this world, but too large a percentage of the population continues to treat them as inconveniences and nuisances, when they’re not treating them as possessions or toys.

The soul is healed by being with children.

Children’s games are hardly games. Children are never more serious than when they play.

If we could destroy custom at a blow and see the stars as a child sees them, we should need no other apocalypse.
